Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be coming to PS5 devices in the spring of next year 2025, and it seems that the game will be pre-prepared for the PS5 Pro device as well.
Revealed Microsoft says the game will run at 60 frames per second on Xbox Series X, but the frame rate can be unlocked to 120. This doesn't mean the game will run at this rate most of the time, especially since it has high-quality graphics and visual effects.
However, this game mode may be suitable for those who will own a PS5 Pro device, which offers new technologies that can increase the power of the platform to twice the power of the current model. This means that a large part of the technical loads that fall on the graphics card and the processing unit in the regular model will be free in the Pro version, and this will allow developers to direct these available capabilities to improve the game's performance, through which it can reach and stabilize at 120 frames / second with ease.
The decision to un-cap the frame rate by the developers at Machine Games studio may have come for this reason, as this will help them show the game better on PC devices and in the future on PS5 Pro.
Through leaked documents sent to developers, we learned that all games released after September 2024 are supposed to come with support for the capabilities and capabilities of Sony's new PS5 Pro Enhanced device. This means that we may see games that run at better resolution and performance than versions designed for current models of home consoles, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle may undoubtedly be one of these titles.
Perhaps supporting the game's arrival at 120 frames per second on current home consoles will be at the expense of some other visual effects and techniques, such as HDR and Ray Tracing, as well as display resolution. However, we do not know what reason could make the developer Machine Games support this frame rate in a single-player story game, so it would be better to focus on exploiting the capabilities of the platforms to support the visual aspect.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be released on Xbox Series on December 9, 2024, and will be available on Game Pass from day one. The PS5 version will be released in the spring (September-December) of next year, 2025.
